MALAYSIA -
JUNE 2008
6 photos
This is the trip that convinced me it was time to spend the money on a
decent SLR camera. Two weeks in Malaysia with my trusty digiscoping
gear, and the only (somewhat) decent photos I got are here -
all six of them. I missed shots of pittas, kingfishers,
rail-babblers, and just about everything else, because almost nothing
would sit still long enough to digiscope. Now, I'm pretty fast at
digiscoping, having nailed antbirds, antwrens, and the like in the
Neotropics, but tropical Asia was a totally different story. I was
defeated! Some day I will go back with a decent camera and more
experience, and see if I can do better.
