BORNEO (SABAH) - JUNE/JULY 2008
16 photosI spent about two weeks in Malaysian Borneo after peninsular Malaysia and Thailand. It was my favorite part of the six week Southeast Asia trip I did - great birds and easy access to excellent forest, especially in the Danum Valley and Mt. Kinabalu National Park. I had only digiscoping gear this time, and my lack of a decent SLR cost be some great shots. I still managed a few decent shots; my favorites are the Whiskered Treeswift and Buff-necked Woodpecker. The Whitehead's Broadbill was terribly backlit, but I included it anyway since it is such a rare bird and I felt pretty lucky to even see it.
