Nearly all the world's Waved Albatrosses breed on this one small island in the Galapagos. A few have bred on Isla de la Plata of the coast of Ecuador, and perhaps a few on Genovesa. Like most of the wildlife on the Galapagos, they are unafraid of humans, and it is a wonderful experience to be able to walk through their breeding colonies. When not breeding, they disperse south into the Humboldt Current, and can been seen is large numbers well offshore the coast of Peru. (S5)
